FAQ

Clear your calendar - It's going down! Splash Blocks kicks off on April 20th, and you're invited to take part in the festivities. Splash HQ (122 W 26th St) is our meeting spot for a night of fun and excitement. Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose.

What should I bring?

A laptop, your student ID and a great attitude! You should NOT bring any firearms, weapons, alcohol, drugs, or soldering materials.

What can I win?

A variety of prizes can be won including Overall Best Project, Most Creative, and Best Visualization.

How many people per team?

There can be a maximum of 4 people per team. You may specify your team when applying so that you are all considered together.

How much does this cost to attend?

Texas datahack is absolutely free for all UT students!

Will there be food?

Yes! We will provide you with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and drinks throughout the day to make sure you are full and focused. Vegetarian options can be made available if specified on your application.

Can I work on something I've already started?

No. You will have a lot of freedom in what to create at the hackathon, but the projects will have to utilize the datasets that we provide. This helps us create a more level playing field for the contestants.

What kind of data can I use?

We will supply you with datasets focused on social good that you can create your project from.

I'm interested in becoming a sponsor!

Please reach out to partnerships@txconvergent.org :)

I have another question!

You can email us at membership@txconvergent.org.
